If the parties reach an agreement, the mediator may prepare the Heads of Agreement outlining the agreement reached. In family law matters, the mediator can also assist in preparing the draft Consent Orders or Parenting Plan. The documents would be provided to the parties and the parties are encouraged to obtain independent legal advice from a lawyer outside of the service if they wish before signing the relevant documents.
